Colorado Buffaloes football: Deion Sanders' son Shedeur transferring to Boulder

Deion Sanders gets another big piece for his Colorado Buffaloes football rebuild

Shedeur Sanders, the son of Colorado head coach Deion Sanders, is transferring from Jackson State to play for the Buffaloes, the school announced Monday.

Shedeur Sanders was a three-star recruit in the 2021 class and was ranked as the No. 18 quarterback in the nation by 247Sports. He played in 12 games for Jackson State last season, throwing for 3,231 yards and 30 touchdowns with eight interceptions.

Sanders led Jackson State to an 11-2 record and a berth in the FCS playoffs last season. He was named the SWAC Offensive Player of the Year and was a finalist for the Jerry Rice Award, which is given to the top freshman in the FCS.

Sanders is expected to compete for the starting quarterback job at Colorado. The Buffaloes lost starting quarterback JT Shrout to transfer this offseason, and they also have Brendon Lewis and Owen McCown on the roster.
