George Russell Secures Pole Position at Canadian Grand Prix

Record Ninth Pole for Mercedes Driver

Verstappen Settles for Second, Ricciardo Out of Top 10

In a thrilling qualifying session at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, George Russell of Mercedes has claimed pole position for the Canadian Grand Prix. This marks Russell's ninth career pole and Mercedes' first of the 2024 season.

Russell edged out Red Bull's Max Verstappen by a narrow margin of just 0.074 seconds. The Dutchman will start alongside Russell on the front row, while Carlos Sainz of Ferrari will occupy third place on the grid.

McLaren's Daniel Ricciardo had a disappointing qualifying session, failing to make it into the top 10. The Australian, who has struggled for pace this season, will start the race from 13th position.

The Canadian Grand Prix is set to take place on Sunday, June 18th, with live coverage available on various platforms worldwide.
