David Kampf Scores Winner, Jack Campbell Backstops Victory

Toronto Maple Leafs defeat Tampa Bay Lightning 4-3 in Overtime

The Toronto Maple Leafs defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning 4-3 in overtime on Saturday night to take a 2-1 lead in their first-round playoff series. David Kampf scored the winning goal for the Maple Leafs, while Jack Campbell made 32 saves in the victory.

The Maple Leafs got off to a quick start, scoring twice in the first period on goals by Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner. However, the Lightning battled back, tying the game in the second period on goals by Nikita Kucherov and Steven Stamkos.

The third period was a back-and-forth affair, with both teams trading chances. The Lightning took the lead with just over five minutes remaining in the period, but the Maple Leafs tied it up again just 1:30 later on a goal by William Nylander.

The game went to overtime, where the Maple Leafs finally prevailed. Kampf scored the game-winner just 2:36 into the extra period, giving the Maple Leafs the win and a 2-1 lead in the series.

Campbell was outstanding in net for the Maple Leafs, making several key saves throughout the game. He was particularly strong in the third period, when the Lightning had several chances to take the lead.

The Maple Leafs will now have a chance to take a 3-1 lead in the series when they host the Lightning in Game 4 on Monday night.
